New Year Walk 2013
We had a great day for the walk. Dry and not cold. 24 of us walked from Lyme Breeze to Bollington, where we spent an hour at the Vale Inn. Then a walk back to Lyme Breeze was followed by a lovely meal.

Robbie's 80th Birthday
This was the first meeting after Robbie's 80th birthday, which was celebrated with a tartan theme.
Speaker Evening
Our own Nan Ironside was the speaker tonight. Her topic was "It always happens to me". Partners were invited, and everyone enjoyed a thoroughly entertaining evening.
2012 06 06 Paul Harris Award Presentation
Dr Leslie Dawson was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship, in recognition of the work he has done over the years as a local GP, church member and U3A member.

Ann Sawer, from the Red Cross, talked to us about how to save a life with CPR. Also at this meeting, Nan Ironside was presented with the Lamplighter for her recent hard work with the schools.
Heatons Festival, 2012
The Club was at the Heatons Festival. As well as some stewarding and marshalling, our fire prevention advisers were out in force, spreading the word about smoke alarms.

2012 05 27 President's 'Night'
This will be a lunchtime event, at Chancellors, Moseley Road, Manchester. Drinks in the gardens from 12:30pm, then lunch at 2:00pm. President Clyde will speak after lunch, then it's back out to the gardens for more drinks and socialising.
2012 06 13 Boule at the Crown
This meeting will be at The Crown, Didsbury Road, and NOT at the Golf Club. Boules on the bowling green, followed by a meal at the Crown. Bob to finish the evening off with his guitar.

Khensani Primary School
Carol Cross has been a regular visitor to Khensani School, in South Africa. The school recently produced a CD of the children singing, which can be seen on YouTube. Many thanks to Doug Cooper, in Cyprus, for production of the music and photo presentation.
