Partners' evening and visit to the International School. Organised by Mike Daw. Our host was Director Dan Hovde Ph.D. who gave us a very interesting talk and showed the company round this well set-up establishment.

Thomas Blake Glover Scholar visit

Exchange visits with Nagasaki in honour of the Scottish Samurai, Thomas Blake Glover, who lived in the community.

Glover Scholar Visit to Nagasaki 2010

Kelly Johnson, our 2010 Thomas Blake Glover Scholar, did Aberdeen proud during her visit to Nagaski. Photos from her presentation to Balgownie Rotary on 14 October are attached.

Nagasaki Friendship Visit

A delegation from the Japanese city of Nagasaki, led by the Mayor and including the President of Nagasaki Rotary Club, paid a visit to Aberdeen during October 2010. Balgownie Rotary Club has played a major part in the links between our two cities.

Sandwalk 2011

The Sand Walk is an annual charitable fund raising event organised jointly by the Rotary Clubs of Balgownie and Ellon to support popular local charities. The Sandwalk 2011 took place on Sunday 21st August 2011

Kids Out 2011

A fun day out for children with special needs. The latest event was held again at Craibstone on Wednesday, 8 June. Kids Out Aberdeen is a registered charity in Scotland - No SC038228

Granite City Rally

Annual car rally; Balgownie Rotarians marshalled the car parking and sold programs.

Christmas Raffle

Balgownie and other Aberdeen Rotary Clubs work together to sell tickets at the Bon-Accord Centre in aid of ARCHIE and other charities.

RYLA

RYLA is an outdoor education opportunity for school-age children, organised by Rotary. The Balgownie Club sponsored two young people to attend the camp, held at the Abernethy Centre, Aviemore

Sandwalk 2009

Seven-mile sponsored walk along the beach north of Aberdeen. Organised by Balgownie and Ellon Rotarians. As of 30 September the proceeds stood at 6350 pounds.

2010 Primary School Quiz

A national Rotary-sponsored contest to win a top prize of £1000 for their school. Seven primary school teams from Bridge of Don battled it out at a well- attended evening in Oldmachar Academy on Wednesday 17 March.
