Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of Chelmer Bridge

A NEW ROTARY YEAR  -  A NEW PRESIDENT

Past President, Rotarian John Pile congratulates
President, Rotarian Mark Evans on his presidency for 2010  -  2011

Thursday 1st July 2010 saw the members of Chelmer Bridge with wives and partners together with guests from the Rotary Club of Hornchurch & Upminster convene at South Lodge Hotel for the traditional annual 'Handover' meeting.

John Pile who had successfully steered the club through 2009/10 after a very difficult year for Chelmer Bridge handed over the reins to Mark Evans who had previously been President in 1995/96. Mark is the first Past President to undertake a second term of office and paid tribute to the efforts of John and his success at moving the club forward after some turbulent times at the club. John can now relax a little more while Mark takes the strain

Past President and now

DISTRICT GOVERNOR

District Governor, and past President, Rotarian Bob Barclay
congratulated by immediate Past District Governor, Rotarian John Banks

Sunday 4th July was a proud day for Chelmer Bridge as Bob Barclay was inducted as District Governor of District 1240 by Immediate Past DG - John Banks at Three Rivers Golf and Country Club, Cold Norton. An excellent turn out of Rotarians and partners  from all over District 1240 together with visiting Rotarians from District 9930, New Zealand enjoyed lunch and friendship and welcomed Bob as incoming District Governor and his team of District Officers. For Chelmer Bridge this is a great honour as it means that the club has now provided two district governors in a three year period - Ken Buck holding the position in 2008/09 although he has since moved on to Chelmsford Mildmay  and the club can guarantee that Bob will be a great success in his role and will lead with enthusiasm.
