Welcome to the Home Page of Cwmbran Vale Rotary Club

Cwmbran Vale Rotary Club was chartered in January 1986 and currently has 25 members.  We have been raising money for local charities and supporting Rotary charities by holding a series of fund raising events each year. 

In 2007, with the help of clubs in RIBI, we raised £14,000 to clear minefields in support of Adopt a Minefield, through the sale of luxury Christmas puddings.  These funds received a matching grant of £14,000 from United Nations, so £28,000 will go to clearing mines in Bosnia. The puddings received rave reviews for their quality such as "best Christmas Pudding I've ever tasted".

With RIBI's blessing, we repeat this project to raise funds in aid of Adopt a Minefield in 2008. The Results are now in!!

THE 2008 SALES CAMPAIGN RAISED £16,250 IN PROFIT AND DONATIONS.  THIS, WITH THE MATCHING UN GRANT, WILL BECOME £32,500 FOR CLEARING MINES. WE ARE ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED WITH THIS OUTCOME, GIVEN THAT WE WERE NOT ABLE TO DO ANY MARKETING AT THE 2008 OR 2009 RIBI CONFERENCES.  MANY THANKS TO ALL ROTARIANS AND FRIENDS WHO SOLD AND ATE PUDS.  WE ARE GOING AGAIN THIS YEAR, WITH MONIES RAISED GOING TOWARDS A UNITED ROTARY EFFORT TO CLEAR MINEFIELDS IN KOSOVO.
