The Rotary Club of Colchester Trinity
Colchester's Evening Rotary Club
The Rotary Club of Colchester Trinity was chartered on Wednesday 30th April 1986 when the president of Rotary International Great Britain & Ireland, presented the thirty founder members with their Rotary badges.
The new club adopted the standard Rotary objectives -
to develop the acquaintance as an opportunity of service;
to adopt high ethical standards in business and the professions and to recognise the worthiness of all useful occupations;
to apply the ideal of service to each Rotarians business and community life; and
to advance international understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
Trinity has developed a warm and friendly spirit amongst its members and provides an active social life.
If strives to make Colchester a better place by raising monies to support good causes such as recent collections for the Army Benevolent Fund, and in hands-on activities such as cleaning up parts of the town, helping redecorate premises for other charities, assisting at local schools in developing interview techniques, an in many other ways.
It has also developed links with two Rotary clubs on the continent with regular exchange visits and has taken on several international projects such as helping a village school in Swaziland and raising funds for Foundation, Rotary's own charity, which spreads it help widely such as it current campaign to finally rid the world of the dread disease polio.
