The Rotary Club of Chelwood Bridge.
Formed over 20 years ago and is one of 1500 clubs in the UK, and one of 52 clubs in Rotary District 1200 which covers Somerset, West Wiltshire and West Dorset. We meet for dinner most Tuesdays at the Carpenters Arms, Stanton Wick, near Bristol for an enjoyable evening of fellowship, conversation, discussion, planning of projects and often an interesting speaker. Visitors are always welcome.

Dedicated to helping people escape the stranglehold of disease and poverty caused by disasters which destroy their homes and possessions and leave them without safe water and sanitation. This is an humanitarian aid project from the Rotary Club of Chelwood Bridge. |

Recent events
- Organising & Marshalling at Camerton Court gardens for the "open weekend" - raising funds for Children's Hospice South West. Inner wheel organised cakes and teas.
- Presentation of cheque to RNLI.
- Presentation of Cheque to DEBRA charity.
- Presentation of Illustrated Dictionaries to children at Pensford and Camerton schools.
- Helping with Stanton Drew Flower Festival on Saturday 18th July and hosting "The Big Breakfast" on Sunday 19th.
- Donation to Rotary Polio Plus campaign.
- Donation to Indonesian Water project - Tandes Lor.
- Marquee at Chew Valley Harvest Home 5th Sept
- Presentation at Cameley Lodge on Sept 1st of donation to Childrens' Hospice South West, consisting of proceeds from Camerton Court 'open weekend' and Choir Night at Downside School earlier in the year.
- Annual golf event at Farrington G&CC which raised £1155 for DEBRA and other charities.
- Participation in Bikes for Africa which collected 500 bicycles for sending to Africa.
- Organisation and hosting of the Rotary District 1200 Conference in Jersey 9-11th October, 2009.
- Marshalling at Farrington Golf and Country Club for fireworks event for local people.
- Participation in Rotary District Skittles Marathon event on 20th November in aid of Somerset and Dorset Air Ambulance.
- Cabaret Evening with comedian and singer at Bishop Sutton in aid of St Peter's Hospice and other charities.
- £1000 raised from Club Christmas Card etc. for "Help for Heroes"
- Fund raising courtesy of TESCO Midsomer Norton in aid of Haiti Appeal for Water Survival Boxes.
- Participation in national Thanks for Life Rotary initiative to raise funds for Polio eradication worldwide:-
- * "Purple Pinkies" campaign in several local schools.
- * Bavarian "Oompah Night" at Conygre Hall, Timsbury for over 200 people. Raised over £2800 and great fun!
- Organised the Primary schools football tournament at Pensford.
- Illustrated Dictionaries awarded to primary school children in 6 local schools.
- Raised £1100 for charity from a St Georges day evening in Camerton.
- Organised our annual Easter Eggs campaign to raise money this year for St Peter's Hospice and Water Survival boxes.
- Working with Midsomer Norton and Radstock and Somer Valley Rotary Clubs to organise the Rotary Martial Arts Festival on Sunday May 16th at Bath University.
