Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of Nene Valley
Hi, and welcome to the site.
The Rotary Club of the Nene Valley is based in Northampton, county town of Northamptonshire in the English East Midlands. Unlike the 4 other clubs in these parts we don't include 'Northampton' in our club name - we like to be different.
Feel free to have a poke around (you won't break anything) and get a
feel for what we do and what we are about. If you feel that it sounds
like the sort of club you might like to be involved with, then please
get in touch by clicking on the Big Blue Button on the right, filling
in the form that then pops up, and we'll be in touch.
If you're already in Rotary and want to visit, get in touch by using the Contact Form above and choosing 'A Visiting Rotarian' on the Subject drop-down.
A guidance note on website best practice for members, with hints and tips on usage, is available via the Mainly for Members page (see left).

Nene Valley is the home of Northamptonshire's Rotary Technology Tournament. This year's event is coming up very soon - Wednesday 17th March. See who is going and what is involved by following the link above.
Haiti Emergency
All 5 Northampton-based Rotary clubs manned a collection point in the Grosvenor Centre on Saturday 23rd January. We displayed a Shelterbox and its contents, which includes a 10-person tent and essential tools for survival. There already are 3,300 of them winging their way to Haiti. And a coordinating response team is already there ensuring the boxes are deployed effectively. Coincidentally £3,300 is the amount of money generously donated by the people of Northampton on the Saturday.
Shelterbox, which was started by a British Rotarian in 1999, is now the largest Rotary-supported disaster relief charity. A typical box costs c. £500. If you didn't manage to catch us at the Grosvenor Centre on the 23rd Feb you can donate direct via their website - Shelterbox donations. Follow this link to a page on this, our own site with the latest position.
In case you are wondering, Nene is pronounced 'Nen', to rhyme with 'men' and not 'Neen', to rhyme with 'mean', which is what misguided folk nearer the sea call OUR river. And it doesn't sound like 'NayNay' either. A NeNe is a Hawaiian goose related to Canadas but much rarer. So don't be surprised if you're shouted down when mispronouncing our name - we are kinda proud of it.
