Young Golfer 2009
After a rather cloudy start to the morning the sun emerged to brighten our day and set the scene for a nice relaxing cruise along the Union Canal from Ratho Bridge outside Edinburgh to the Almond Aqueduct. As in previous years Braids Rotary club invited a group along from Headway. As you can see from the snapshots all in attendance had a really good time and expressed their appreciation for the kind consideration given to them from our club.
A busy period for Comm and Voc. On Thursday 30 April, six intrepid 'researchers' from Braids RC undertook a vocational visit to the Glenkinchie Distillery and learned much about the processes of distilling and ageing of sprit and were able to sample a variety of products produced by Diageo the parent company. Thanks are particularly due to Colin Mackay who conveyed the party in his people carrier and stayed 'dry' for the occasion and to our guide at Glenkinchie for an informative tour and exhibition.
Four intrepid Ambassadorial Scholars from D. 9750 recently completed a sponsored cycle from Sydney to Canberra over 5 days, raising $4000 for the Australian Rotary Health Research Fund in the process.
