Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of Llandaff

Llandaff Rotary Club has a welcoming and friendly group of members who enjoy Rotary and Rotary activities.

Ideally based at the Churchill’s Hotel, which is only 3km from Cardiff city centre and within walking distance of Llandaff Cathedral (pictured above). Ample free car parking on the hotel site is an added bonus for those attending our regular Tuesday lunch or dinner meetings. Visitors are particularly welcome.

A strong programme of short lunch-time talks and prestige speakers after evening dinners are free to attend.  The meals are competitively priced. Designed to attract younger people who may feel able to slip away for an hour for lunch or pop in-for dinner after work (and still be able to be home after the rush hour is over).
Rotary is renowned for its charitable work throughout the world and, with a network of clubs in the UK and abroad they achieve remarkable targets. The individual clubs are the basis of the organisation and each club has complete autonomy to organise a programme to suit the members!

This club was founded in 1964 and was the 3rd. club set up in the Cardiff area. (These Clubs now numbering 8.)
Our home patch covers the Cathedral City of Llandaff, Radyr and the North Western Suburbs of Cardiff.
We are a dual-gender club, currently with 24 active and 2 honorary members, but hoping for more. In order to cater for busy business people who may find lunch-time meetings difficult to attend, alternate weekly meetings are held at 6.30pm. (Full details of our meetings and venue can be found in the panel on the right hand side of this page.) Our service activities cover International, National and our local community with emphasis on young people, sponsoring both the Rotary Youth Speaks & the Young Musician Competitions. We organise children's sports afternoons (5-side football & netball for the under12's.) and support the Rotary Young Leaders Award course at Dolygaer.
Each year we host and counsel an Ambassadorial scholar, studying in Cardiff. These students, from all over the world, are a vital part of future international understanding. Before Christmas each year, we receive magnificent support from the people of Llandaff & Radyr who help us by donating foodstuffs which we make up into food parcels and deliver to the elderly, lonely and needy of our community.
The vulnerable are also helped by the Message in a Bottle scheme.
Also at Christmas, the Rotary Carol Service at the Cathedral on behalf of the combined Rotary Clubs in Cardiff is open to all.
Aid and donations to local charities include Young Carers, Glamorgan Radio at UHW, The Stroke Association, and the Rotary initiative to eradicate Polio worldwide. If you feel a commitment to help your local community and to be part of a world-wide organisation with more than 1.3 million members in 200 countries, join us, you will be made very welcome. For more information check the community notice boards in Llandaff and Radyr or contact our Hon. Sec. Jack Ayles at 029 2084 2562. Registered Charity No. 1060658
