Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of Llandaff

This club was founded in 1964 and was the third club set up in the Cardiff area. (At present there are seven Clubs in the City and four more in the Vale of Glamorgan.)

Our area covers the Cathedral City of Llandaff, Radyr and the North Western Suburbs of Cardiff.

We are a dual-gender club, currently with 30 members, but hoping for more.

In order to cater for busy business people who may find lunch-time meetings difficult to attend, alternate weekly meetings are held at 6.30pm. (Full details of our meetings and venue can be found in the  panel on the right hand side of this page.)

Our service activities cover International, National and our local community with emphasis on young people, sponsoring both the Rotary Youth Speaks  & the Young Musician Competitions.  We organise children’s sports afternoons (5-side football & netball for the under12’s.) and support the Rotary Young Leaders Award course at Dolygaer.
Each year we host and counsel an Ambassadorial scholar, studying in Cardiff.
These students, from all over the world, are a vital part of  future international understanding.

Before Christmas each year, we receive magnificent support from the people of Llandaff and Radyr who help us by donating foodstuffs  which we make up into food parcels and deliver to the elderly, lonely and needy of our community.

The vulnerable are also helped by the Message in a Bottle scheme. (See Community and Vocational Services report)

Also at Christmas, the Rotary Carol Service at the Cathedral on behalf of the combined Rotary Clubs in Cardiff is open to all.

Aid and donations to local charities include Young Carers, Glamorgan Radio at UHW, The Stroke Association, and the Rotary initiative to eradicate Polio worldwide.

If you feel a commitment to help your local community and to be part of a world-wide organisation with more than 1.3 million members in 200 countries, join us, you will be made very welcome.

For more information check the community notice boards in Llandaff and Radyr or contact our Hon. Sec. Jack Ayles at 029 2084 2562.
