Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of Elthorne-Hillingdon

The Rotary Club of Elthorne Hillingdon, chartered in 1979. has a Trust Fund which is a registered charity (No.1032574). There are currently 30 members, men and women, who live in the London Borough of Hillingdon or close by. The club is lively, dynamic and friendly, and in addition to upholding Rotary ideals, we believe in enjoying ourselves.

Thanks for Life - Thanks to Rotary

Welcome to 'Thanks for Life', a project involving the 1,800 clubs and 58,000 members of Rotary International in Great Britain & Ireland, aimed at helping to eradicate polio throughout the world.

Timed to coincide with Rotary’s 105th anniversary, a campaign week around 23rd February will be held nationally. Making a splash in Ruislip Manor, our members have been busy with a massive display at the Victoria Road lights. If you want to know how you can help, click on our End Polio Now link (top of the list of the left) or the Contact Form above and select End Polio Now as the subject

Our President

is John Greening, a Management Consultant, who lives in Northwood. John was installed as President on Wednesday 1 July.  He's been busy on the radio recently.  Go to this page on his blog to find the full interview on Hayes FM

Helping the Homeless in Haiti

People all over Hillingdon have been digging deep to help us help the homeless in Haiti.  In partnership with our sister Rotary clubs of Heathrow, Pinner & Ruislip-Northwood we've been out collecting funds to provide shelter for the homeless.  We raised almost £5,000, enough to send 10 Shelterboxes, providing shelter and basic needs for 100 people.  Through Rotary's own Shelterbox charity we're sending thousands of relief boxes - each box provides Shelter & survival needs for an entire family.  You can read the latest news on relief operations here.

In conjunction with Barclays Bank we raised a further £1,500 (or 3 more Shelterboxes) at a quiz night.  With a further 2 boxes from our sister club in Uxbridge that makes a total of 15 boxes from Hillingdon Rotary clubs.

Four year-old Carlos had his leg amputated on Wednesday 20 Jan. He is now recovering in a ShelterBox tent and is pictured using one of the children’s packs sent in the boxes. Photograph: Mark Pearson

Welcome

If you're visiting our site for the first time, welcome.  If you're visiting us because you saw our display in Ruislip or Uxbridge Library (pictured left), you're doubly welcome.  (And if you're a regular visitor, welcome back).

We hope you find the site useful.  This page has links to our latest information – and each of the sections on the left (under Club Action Groups) will take you to a wealth of information about us and what we do.

You can contact us further by using the "Contact Form button above and selecting the appropriate subject.  Welcome to Rotary in Hillingdon.

"Strokes for The Stroke Association".  Tuesday 21st July saw the 14th Annual Charity Golf day run by the Rotary Club of Elthorne Hillingdon.  Each year we give the entire proceeds of our charity Golf Day to a single charity and this year it's The Stroke Association.  We have raised £9,750 this year - a tremendous result in challenging times.
