About us

Welcome from our President

We are based in the historic market town of Haddington and received our charter in 1960. We now celebrate 59 years of service to the community and look forward to celebrating our 60th year in 2020. We support our local community as well as local and international organisations, where we hope to make a difference.

We have an active Youth Programme working with local secondary and primary schools. Schools are encouraged to take part in youth competitions like the Rotary Youth Leadership Award, Challenge Enterprise, Primary School Quiz Challenge and also in Technology Challenges.

While maintaining the traditions of Rotary, we feel that it is essential to enjoy ourselves and have fun while fund-raising and supporting good causes. We hold regular social events, both within our usual meetings and other external events where partners and friends are welcome to join us.

To find out more about us and what we do, please scroll down on this page and also use the menu at the top left to view our other pages.

New members are always welcome!

If you think you might be interested in joining Rotary and would like to find out more about us, please click the 'Membership Enquiry' button at the bottom of this the page. You can also get in touch using the 'Contact Us', button at the top of the page.

You are most welcome to come along and meet us at one of our regular Tuesday meetings at The Maitlandfield Hotel if we have some prior notice. Alternatively, you could attend one of our twice-yearly information evenings. These are informal meetings where you would be able to find out more about what we do and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

I am very much looking forward to working with fellow Rotarians, schools, and community and charitable organisations in the coming year. I hope we can continue to make a difference in our local community and also internationally.
