Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of Salford with Swinton
Rotary Club of the District Governor
President Rodney and DG David with the GSE Team from D7150
At Salford with Swinton Rotary Club we work regularly with the young people of our city
above are just some examples. We encourage Headteachers to nominate a boy and a girl
from their school who have gone the extra mile. Members have accompanied choir members
from Pendleton College to Romania to perform concerts. The club funded a safe play area for
st Phillip's Primary school situated in the inner city.
Purple Pinkie
The club are now holding a number of "Purple Pinkie" Events at local Primary schools, the children are
asked to bring in £1 which funds vaccines to eradicate Polio in Pakistan, India, Afghanistan and
Nigeria. The hope is that the children learn about the difficulties faced by the children in these
countries. Each child that takes part has their little finger coloured with food dye, similar to the
way children are marked after receiving the vaccine.
Here we see President Rodney and Lesley Barlow with the children from The Friars Primary School.
The club helped fund a home for orphans in Eritrea. |

The club is committed to Rotary's End Polio Now Project. |
