Salford with Swinton have been serving the local community for over 85 years, during that time the city has changed beyond all recognition. The Salford Quays is now a major tourist destination and of course is home to the BBC.

North West Disabled Games

 

Another great day spent at the Disabled Games held annually at Sutton Sports Centre in St Helens, the participants young and old had a fantastic day with over 220 taking part. We had 6 of our members tghere as volunteers and we hope to get a team from Salford entered next year.

Chernobyl Children

Each year the club hosts a small group of children from Chernobyl, they attend a club meeting where our resident "magician" , member John Atherton entertains them. In return they sing some songs. Earliier in the week they have enjoyed a meal kindly provided by Duke's 92 .

 

 

 

              Excitement of Science             

On 26 February the club transported pupils from Oasis Academy High School to the Manchester University Excitement of Science Event. Dr Aravind Vijayaraghavan, inventor of the revolutionary material Graphene had the pupils spellbound.
