The Historic Town of Warwick

Okens House
Warwick is one of the UK’s most historic towns. There are many buildings of historic interest here and the most prominent landmark is Warwick Castle, which dominates the skyline. Warwick Castle is the most visited stately home in Great Britain and with its staterooms, great hall, dungeons and torture chambers it dates back to the 14th century. The 128 foot Guy’s Tower, Caesar’s Tower and clock tower are magnificent examples of a well-preserved heritage.
Well worth a visit is the Lord Leycester Hospital, a group of 14th century buildings which were converted into a home for old soldiers in 1571, and which is still in use today. The chapel, great hall and the Guildhall, with the museum of the Queen’s Own Hussars, are all within easy walking distance of the centre. The beautiful church of St. Mary’s is also a building that should be visited.

St. Mary's Church
While it boasts a historic past, Warwick is a lively, bustling town which matches the requirements of the present day, with numerous places of interest for people of all ages.
It contains many restaurants and cafes, with menus to suit all tastes, and caters for young and old alike. There are many pubs and bistros and each Saturday morning the open-air market in the square attracts a large following. Many popular events are held throughout the town during the year, a lot of them supported by the Rotary Club.
