PRESS RELEASE
WOODBRIDGE WAR MEMORIAL REFURBISHMENT
The Appeal made by the Rotary Club of Woodbridge for funds to repair and restore the War Memorial in the Town has received a swift response from the people of Woodbridge. The target for both the basic repairs and the planned refurbishment has been achieved. The Woodbridge Royal British Legion have also made generous donations resulting in an excess which will be divided between the Poppy Day Appeal and the charity Help for Heroes.
Roger Burgess the President of the Rotary Club said, "We are very grateful to all who have contributed. There are far too many for us to be able to thank individually so we hope that our thanks expressed here, together with the knowledge that they have contributed, will be sufficient. This has been our community at its best, especially as the target was so quickly achieved."
For those who would still like to be part of this Community Project, donations can still be sent to: The Rotary Club of Woodbridge, War Memorial Appeal, Shire Hall, Market Place, Woodbridge, IP12 4LP
Woodbridge Rotary is a friendly group of local men and ladies who support a number of local and international charity and fundraising events. We meet weekly and have monthly social events where partners are welcomed. For more information about us, please contact Roger Burgess on 01394 384097 or visit www.woodbridgerotary.org.uk

Notes for the Editor
When the Rotary Club of Woodbridge heard recently that the War Memorial on Market Hill required urgent repair and refurbishment it immediately offered to raise a Public Appeal for funds to do the work. The Appeal was supported by the Town Council and the Royal British Legion.
The target was £7,200 which will cover the urgent repairs, repaint the names and tidy up the area of the War Memorial generally in time for Remembrance Sunday this year.
Letters inviting contributions were delivered to as many houses in Woodbridge as possible in the course ten days.
Any questions should be directed to Roger Burgess 01394 384097
