UPDATE ON RISE AGAINST HUNGER MEAL PACK EVENT
SATURDAY 13 APRIL 2019 CARTMEL PRIORY SCHOOL
Our 11 July Presentation
Meeting was excellent and well attended by representatives from 24 Clubs in the
District. For those Clubs that were unable to attend, and for a refresher for
those that did, the speakers Eric and Irene’s Warrington Meal Pack video and
slides as well as lots of relevant information is also available on both the RIBI District
1190 Website and the Rise
Against Hunger Website through the links that follow at t he bottom of this item.
During August we hope you will have the opportunity to discuss the project within your Club. Whilst Grange Rotary are happy to take the lead and host the Meal Pack, it will not succeed without the teamwork, volunteers and financial support of the Clubs in the District. As you know, Mary Bradley, our DG, is fully behind the project and wants us all to “Be Inspired”
We are hoping that by September enough clubs will pledge £500 to the project, to enable us to confirm that the Meal Pack can go ahead.
If you have any queries that have not been answered from the information on the websites, please contact Mike and Linda at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will be back in touch with you by mid September.
The updated Flyer is here:-

LATEST INFORMATION AT THE 19th August XX18.
We now have a solid commitment of financial support from the following clubs :
Accrington, £500.00; Kendal, £500.00; Lytham, £500.00; Penrith, £500.00; Preston Amounderness, £500.00; St. Anne's, 500.00 which , together with £100.00 from the Mayor of Grange-over-Sands and a promise of £300.00 from Carlisle South amounts to £3,400.00. We therefore still have a long way to go to raise the £15,000.00 or so required but we are still awaiting contact from the other 60 or so clubs in District 1190.
We therefore need everyone reading this to pass the word around that we need pledges of financial and physical presence on the day to help pack the food on the day.
LATEST INFORMATION AT THE 23rd AUGUST XX18.
We now know of several other local clubs that cannot assist us due to their existing commitments which is perfectly understandable but it does increase the need for as much help as is available from the remaining clubs in the District.
Update 20th September 2018
We have reached the £10 000 mark of pledges and our Club Council has moved the project from feasibility status total GO.
