Dr Andrew Aldrin (CEO of the Aldrin Family Foundation), Rotarian Peter Chandler of Stokesley and Rotarian Jim Christensen of Titusville Sunrise Rotary, Florida (Director of ShareSpace Education) at Bring It On 2019.

Bring It On North East 2019 is the 3rd consecutive event, bringing 2200 schoolchildren to the Beacon of Light in Sunderland to meet real-life Engineering companies in the North East of England. Rotary North East leads a successful collaboration of local and national organisations to organise and fund these events, and 2019 is our biggest event so far.

The North East heats of the national Big Bang programme took place at this year's Bring It On, and the North East Young Scientist, Young Engineer and Innovation awards were made at the show.

Day 1 of the show saw over 1000 primary schoolchildren visiting, while Day 2 was dedicated to those from secondary schools, with 1200 pupils signed up.

Dr.Andrew Aldrin, son of astronaut and moonwalker, Buzz Aldrin, was at the show on its second day and spoke to a packed audience of secondary pupils about his youth as the son of a world-famous astronaut, the history of US and Russian space exploration, and the future of space travel in this and future generations.

He was accompanied by Jim Christensen, Executive Director of ShareSpace Education, Florida, which is located close to the Kennedy Space Centre and supported by the Aldrin family Foundation.
