Speaker Mike Norman- Adventure in Two Worlds

Mon, Nov 26th 2007 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

The Askrigg Pie and Pea evening raised £310 towards the Rotary Foundation charity.  Ladies Circle thanked the Club for the donation of £200 towards Cancer Research.

The guest Speaker was Mike Norman who regaled the club with anecdotes of his extensive cricketing career as an opening batsman in County cricket. His tales of famous cricketers he played with and against kept members enthralled.  Pay and playing conditions thirty odd years ago bear no resemblance to circumstances of today.  Taken back to their youth in memory, questions and comments were extensive and revealed how very appreciative of the talk members were.
