2020 Saffery Rotary Walk

Early-Bird prices closing 31 January

Registration officially opened on Monday 9 December for the 2020 Saffery Rotary Walk, Guernsey’s only around-the-island walk, offering early-bird prices for those who sign up before 5.00 p.m. on 31 January 2020.

Individual walkers who register by 31 January will pay a discounted price of £20, after which the regular registration fee will be £25.

Walkers will once again be able to take part as a relay team with a maximum of seven people in each team. The early-bird price of £105 for team registration will be available until 31 January, after which the regular team registration fee will be £140.

Next year’s Saffery Rotary Walk takes place on Saturday 06 June

The 39 mile route is divided into sections by a number of checkpoints along the route, with each section being between four and eight miles in length and of varied levels of difficulty.

Chair of the Walk’s organising committee, Simon Milsted, said: “Last year we had a phenomenal turnout and ended up raising over £85,000, which was distributed across 25 charities. We hope next year’s event attracts record numbers and helps to raise even more money for the community projects it supports.”

Director at Saffery Champness, the walk’s headline sponsor, and head of the firm’s CSR activity, Lisa Vizia said: “The walk is one of the highlights of our CSR calendar. We support a variety of community projects and we are so proud to be the headline sponsors for the walk. Every year it helps so many worthwhile causes and it’s incredible to see how dedicated all the walkers and volunteers are - it’s always a very special day. With the volume of walkers we are now getting, early registration makes is easier for the committee to plan and get the packs together so we encourage anyone who knows in advance if they’re doing the walk to register sooner rather than later.”

Walkers complete the 39 mile challenge in aid of a range of local charities and not for profit organisations, all of which operate in Guernsey and the Bailiwick. Charities that will be supported by the Walk in 2020 will be announced in early January.
