HIGHEST AWARD FOR SALE ROTARIANS

Two past presidents of Sale Rotary Club have been honoured with the international network's highest award.

Peter Munday and Bob Richardson have received the Paul Harris Fellowship. Only 22 others have been awarded since the club was founded nearly 75 years ago.

Peter Munday, of Moss Lane, Sale, joined Sale Rotary Club in 1998 and has served two terms as president. Bob Richardson - a professional artist with studios in Washway Road, Sale and who lives at Cranford Road, Flixton - joined in 1992. He was president in 2003-4 and is chairman of the club's Youth Activities committee.

The Paul Harris Fellowship, named in memory of one of the American founders of the movement recognises their outstanding contribution to Rotary ideals and the Sale community.

"Rotary is all about putting 'service above self' and both Peter and Bob have done exactly that for a total of 26 years," says Sale Rotary Club President, John Pilling, who presented the awards. "They are a credit to everything we stand for."
