Gourock Rotary Young Musicians Contestants 2007

The last Young Musician's competition to be held at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel turned out to be one of the best. The evening was won by two pupils from Port Glasgow. John Paton from St. Stephen's High won the Junior Section playing Radioheads on the Guitar. The Senior Section was won by Kayleigh Sharp playing Canyable et Presto on the Flute, The Judges had a very difficult task as the all contestants showed a good command of their instruments and voice. Professor Raymond Thomson Chairman of The Judges congratulated all the participants on their performances and offered words of encouragement to them for their future. The Director of Education and Social Work Ian Fraser presented the prizes.

The organiser would like to thank ADLIB MUSIC who sponsored the prizes, NCC who provided the sound system and Nation Semiconductors who donated a generous cheque to offset the costs of the evening. Thanks also go to the Functions Staff of The Ramada Jarvis Hotel for their assistance in making the evening a success
