GSE Team from Venezuela

Visit to Plymouth by Rotary District 4370 Group Study Exchange Team

The Group Study Exchange (GSE) programme of Rotary is a unique cultural exchange opportunity for young business and professional men and women between the ages of 25 and 40. Teams are composed of 4-6 non-Rotarian team members, usually of various business and professional backgrounds, and one Rotarian Leader.

The GSE program provides travel grants for team participants to exchange visits between paired areas in different countries for a four to six week period. Whilst their team members study the hosts countries way of life, observe their own vocations as practised abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, as well as exchanging ideas. During the Exchange, teams will visit local businesses, government offices and community organisations in the hosts District. Tour historical and cultural sites, stay with Rotarians host families, and make presentations about their home countries and professions.

"All who participate are building bridges of friendship and peace through world understanding"

The Rotary District 4370 Group Study Exchange (GSE) team from Venezuela returned to their starting point in our district on Thursday 20th May after spending the previous month touring the rest of District 1290 in Cornwall.

Most of the day was spent getting to know their home hosts but the evening was spent in the company of the Plympton Rotary Club who were also joined by several of the other local Rotary clubs and was were the teams final presentation on their homeland was made.
