2010 Lostwithiel Carnival - Street Party & Duck Race

Thu, Jul 15th 2010 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

The Street Party will feature in the Parade from the junction of Monmouth Square to Globe corner and onto the Medieval Bridge, with some activity both on the banks of the river and indeed in the river

Street Party & Duck Race 15/7/10

Activities commence at 5.30pm with the final of the Lostwithiel's Got Talent competition.

Throughout the evening, the talented Funky Faces will be painting the youngsters with all sorts of amazing designs and a new entertainer, Bamboozle, will astound you with his balloon artistry.  The energetic amongst you will be able to try out your balancing skills on the surfboard simulator.

Culture is the name of the game, and it is the Lostwithiel Tanoshii Taiko Drummers that start off the evening's entertainment, which includes Acting Up (the exciting young group from the Lostwithiel Players), Lost In Song (the forever growing group of ladies), the Trigg Morris Men (escaping their curfew once again), and from 9:00pm, we will have a live band.

Charity stalls will be on display in the Parade and, for those in need of sustenance, there will be an outside bar (run by The Globe selling wine, beer and soft drinks), a hog roast (run by the Rotary Club) and a barbecue (run by the Community Centre).

The famous Duck Race is scheduled for about 7:30pm, but there will be an incoming tide!  However, Rotary's maritime consultant assures us that the ducks will still go down stream - if not, have your cameras ready to see a maritime consultant joining the ducks!
