Carnival Procession, Music & Fireworks 17/7/10

Saturday night fun and entertainment starts with the Carnival Parade; entrants should assemble in Coulson Park by 5:45pm for judging to commence at 6:00pm.  The Parade will move off at 6:30pm led by the Mayor and Rotary President, closely followed by the local fire appliance and the Town Band.

The classes for this years parade are:
     1.  Family Groupings
     2.  Prams & Bikes over 11 years
     3.  Walking Tableau 11 years & under
     4.  Walking Tableau over 11 years to 16 years
     5.  Walking Tableau over 16 years
     6.  Motorised Vehicles.

The Parade will follow the customary route along Quay Street, up North Street, down Fore Street, over the bridge and then the rail crossing, and finally up the hill to the Earl of Chatham.

Prizes for the winners will be presented in the Chatham car park and then the music will commence.  This year, the Carnival band is Black Friday.  For those that are overdosing on fresh air, there will be a disco inside the Chatham.  Drinks and refreshments, including a hog roast, will be available throughout the evening.

The grand firework display by Trelawney Fireworks will take place around 10:00pm, with the music continuing outside until 11.00pm.  It's Carnival Night, so it's then into the Chatham for the disco and some late night revelry.
