Rules of the Ride

1. All horses and ponies must be at least 4 years old.

2. Hard hats must be worn. Body protectors are recommended.

3. All riders will report to the Hon. Secretary at the start to pay entry fees (if not paid in advance), to receive their ride number and to pay in their sponsorship money.

4. Riders will only be permitted to start between 10.00 a.m. and 12 noon.

5. Three attempts only may be made at each obstacle, after which riders must continue on the course.

6. Care must be taken to avoid low branches.

7. Riders must obey stewards' instructions.

8. Riders 15 years of age or under MUST be accompanied by a rider over 16 years of age.

8. Code of Conduct

            Good riding manners are required at all times.

            Be considerate when in the company of novice riders and young horses.

            Be cautious when overtaking and never on a narrow track nor between fences / jumps.

9. Riders may drop out en route but they MUST inform a course steward and give their ride number.

10. Ponies may only be led on a short lead.

11. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.

12. Liability

            Riders take part at their own risk.

            The organisers and land owners accept no liability for any injury or damage or loss to persons , property or animals, howsoever caused.

            All horses and ponies MUST CARRY THEIR OWN THIRD PARTY INSURANCE.

            Participation in the Ride signifies acceptance of these conditions and that entrants indemnify the organisers, land owners and helpers against any claim or cost arising from their entry.
