Home | 7th Annual Charter Buffet

Sat Jun 19th 2010

Ambleside Kirkstone Rotary Club held their 6th Charter celebration with a stylish buffet in brilliant sunshine on the shore of Windermere.
The perfect setting of Hodge How added to the relaxed atmosphere of the occasion when some 70 guests enjoyed a magnificent gourmet Cumbrian barbecue.
Whilst formalities were kept to a minimum, the Club received a presidential citation from ADG Arthur Jones, and the highlight and finale of the occasion was when a bemused (and later delighted Bill Dorrell) was awarded  a Paul Harris Fellowship by District Governor Elect Ron Duxbury. Everyone mingled and chatted as they were entertained by two performers from ‘Jesters’ of Ambleside and
the entertainment continued during  the four course lunch with music and vocals from Cornerstone, a local Cumbrian duo.
Another memorable day for the Club and particularly for President Allison and Bill Dorrell!
