We started walking at 10:30am after coffee and biscuits. The walk started from the old Ribblehead Quarry, which is now a nature reserve with ample parking. We proceeded across Gauber High Pasture, and thence to Gt Douk, down to Chapel-le-Dale, and gently rising to Ellerbeck, then to Winterscales, Batty Moss and back. It was mostly on good paths or farm roads/tracks. There was about half a mile max that was "tussocky" across Gauber High Pasture.
