"Details of Convoy"

Lets keep up the "Fry Drive" collections for the next trip.

The Sept. 2010 trip to Kosovo also used approx. 1000 litres of refined Bio Fuel and saved approx. £1000 in overall costs.

Previous News:

Sept. 2010 - Update:  The Cosova / Albania Aid trip, with two fire engines, was successfully completed ( See Report - OPT International ) and the re-cycled oil was used to a fantastic financial advantage.

Quote from report : "We departed from Liskeard Fire Station at 0900hrs on 19-09-2010 and headed towards Dover. The first day was very different to previous convoys".

"Firstly we were running on BioDiesel and one fire appliance had to go to Stroud in Gloucestershire to collect, whilst theother vehicles all met at Exeter and then proceeded onto Clacket Services M25. We met there at 1600hrs and refuelled the vehicles, except the van, with the Bio diesel".

"This continued for the next four days and saved the team over £1000.00 in fuel costs; and not one of us smelt like a chip shop at all. The cooking oil once refined did have a slight odour of chips but that was all, much cleaner than ordinary diesel".
