Wed Sep 1st 2010

We were very pleased to welcome twelve members of the Rotary Club of Barnet invited by Chris Sales who recently joined us from that Club. Rotarian Mike Hodge spoke of the merger of the clubs from Friern Barnet and Whetstone and Barnet and the revitalisation that has taken place resulting in recruitment of seven new members.

Rotarian Peter Cragg told us of their successful twinning with a Rotary Club in France and the fellowship and friendship that has resulted from this association. Past District Governor, Don Merritt, District 1130, spoke about Rotary's campaign to eradicate Polio in the world and the purple crocus planting that will take place this year as part of their fundraising efforts.

On October 1st this year, Rotary are taking over Trafalgar Square from 10.30 am – 2.00 pm to promote this event and the International Flower Bulb Centre will be giving away small boxes of purple crocus bulbs.
