George's fundraising challenge for NWAA

George Blenkinship is taking part in North West Air Ambulance's fundraising challenge to the Great Wall of China between 26th March and 3rd April 2011.

This is the first overseas challenge to the Great Wall by NWAA and involves 6 days trekking through watchtowers and battlements with breathtaking scenery. George will be lending a hand in repairing the wall on a watchtower and intends to conquer the 1000 steps in Mutinayu.

George's interest started when his son had registered for the event and then George agreed to go with him.

Minimum sponsorship required for this event is £2,500, of which £1,500 is George's contribution to cover costs. George will be raising additional sponsorship through Rotary, with gift aid going to Rotary Charities and £1000 minimum to NWAA.

The first fundraising event was a cycle ride by George and Sally from Vienna to Prague in October 2010 (257 miles) and they raised £605.
