18/11/2010 - Business Meeting and Special General Meeting
At this meeting we ratified the minutes of the November Council meeting and then went on to elect office bearers for the next Rotary year (starting 1 July2011) and approve last year's accounts. All went smoothly and next year's President and Senior Vice President are Robert Lamont and Bob Tait respectively. Brian Taylor remains as Secretary and George Wood is our new Treasurer, Ronie Nicol having completed the maximum 5 years service in this post.

DUNS ROTARIANS ARE THEY GREEN?
David Scott Aiton, the coordinator of BCCF Environmental established by Berwickshire Community Council's Forum, urged club members to address green issues in Berwickshire.
He explained that BCCF Environmental, having run their Master Composter Programme for some time, have now been awarded the Zero Waste Volunteer Project promoted by The Scottish Government. |
David said 'the composting programme has been successful and households throughout the Borders are now composting household and garden waste' and he highlighted successful composting techniques.
