On Monday the 1st November 2010 a group from The Rotary Club of Esk Valley visited Woodburn Primary School, nursery to P7 to talk about Rotary's End Polio Now campaign.
It was very enthusiasticaly received and the children were interested in the DVD and hearing how Purple Pinkie came about, and how children have their pinkies dipped to show who has been vaccinated.
The children a Woodburn Primary gave a donation and had their pinkies dipped in ink and raised 171 which will pay for 342 children's vaccinations.
We would like to thank all the children and staff at Woodburn Primary School for allowing us to visit and the school found it helpful as it tied up with projects about India and Africa the school are currently invovled in.
