One of the Competition winners Toby Heard - St Mary's School - with Amersham Rotary Club President Chalmers Cursley, Amersham Town Mayor Cllr Martin Phillips, and Mary Simmonds of St Mary's School.

Amersham Town Council, in partnership with Amersham Rotary Club, sponsored a competiton for Signature Flowerbeds in the Town, and President Chalmers Cursley, assisted by Richard Langley and Pat Armstrong judged the entries from Primary Schools in the area.   

Assemblies have recently been held to present prizes to the winners, the first presentation to Toby Heard of  St. Mary’s School, Old Amersham on 2nd February, followed by Nimi Kava of Little Chalfont Primary School on 7th February, and finally Alfie Nagle of Chestnut Lane Infant School on 8th February. Alfie was the youngest winner at only five and a half years old.

All the children received a Certificate from Mayor Martin Phillips, and a cheque for £50 from Amersham Rotary Club to be used in their gardening clubs from President Chalmers Cursley on 2nd and 7th February and Vice President George Boyle on 8th February.   

The three designs will be planted in the Spring by the children, assisted by Amersham Town gardeners.
