Home | Fellowship | Blaize Trailers Walk Around Dacre Banks and Darley Mill

Tue Mar 29th 2011

We once again visited Nidderdale, but compared with the rugged nature of the terrain on our last walk there this was in pastoral countryside.

We  met at 9.30am at Darley Mill Centre on the B6451 between Menwith Hill and Summerbridge, where everyone had a a cup of coffee in their excellent cafe although some tried to get me to buy bacon sandwiches as well!

Following a gently undulating walk in varied scenery we lunched at The Royal Oak at Dacre Banks at 12.30-1.00pm. The stretch after lunch was a pleasant level walk along the trackbed of the old Harrogate to Pateley Bridge railway which runs alongside the River Nidd.
