Wed Apr 6th 2011

Professor Ric Russell, an eminent Scottish architect, has been instrumental in the creation of the concept and the design of the Falkirk Wheel, which was completed in 2002 and connects the Forth with the Clyde. Thus Scotland has enabled itself to have a waterway that links East with West.

His talk to Club Members and their guests provided a unique opportunity to hear at first hand how a fascinating and innovative idea became a modern reality that must surely soon become one of the recognised Wonders of the World.

Professor Russell illustrated his talk with a colourful presentation which was accompanied with an eye-opening and humorous commentary.
