Keith Hoffmeister of the Chiltern Society addressed us on May 11th.
Keith showed us a whole series of photographs he has taken along the proposed path of the HS2 railway. The photos showed us known and loved landmarks, and the Chiltern landscape as it now is.
He outlined to us the havoc which will be caused by not only the train line, but the construction camps, the access shafts, and the pathways which will be destroyed in the building process. He evoked the harm which will be caused: for example the river Misbourne might well be polluted and destroyed.
An excellent, if not a cheering talk.
