Bark in the Park Charity Walk

A charity sponsored dog walk held in Battery Park, Gourock.

Every dog knows how difficult it is to get our human companions of a certain age to exercise. Some of us canine heroes decided that something had to be done and so the walk around the Battery Park that took place last Sunday was organised. It was a sunny day but a bit breezy down the back straight when about a dozen enthusiastic canine walkers dragged their human escorts, each armed with some basic equipment, twice around the park. All human escorts were properly sniffed before being considered eligible to take part and were allowed a short break between circuits to get their breath back. All in all it was a successful innovation, the escorts behaved well and there was no over excited behaviour that might have caused canine embarrassment. The two legged walkers seemed to enjoy the experience and were none the worse for it, although it has been reported that there was an increase in afternoon snoozing in some households.
