Stan joined the Rotary Club of Amersham in February this year.

He was born in Dunfermline in 1945 of Scottish fishing stock. He is married with 4 children and 2 grandchildren and has lived in this area for many years.

Stan has enjoyed a highly successful and varied career initially at sea with the Cunard / Brocklebank line where he rose to be a senior officer gaining the Masters Certificate. After leaving the Merchant Navy due to an illness, he started a degree in Mathematics as a mature student, but subsequently joined Marks & Spencer and was sent to Canada where he eventually became Head of Store Operations. He then spent 5years with Quaker Oats in Belgium, before moving back to the UK with PepsiCo International.  He was head of International Compensation and Benefits, and played a significant role in major mergers & acquisitions including Tropicana and Quaker Oats. On retirement recently, Stan has become heavily involved in charity work with the PepsiCo Foundation working on a pro-bono basis with the Oxford Health Alliance and Save the Children.

Stan is thoroughly international having lived and worked in many corners of the world Including India, Canada and Belgium.
