2011-12 Harrow Young Carers and other Good Causes

Our President's charity this year is the Harrow Young Carers which is part of Harrow Carers who are the leading carers support organisation in Harrow. Since 1996, they have developed a network of services and support for carers to reduce the burden and increase the life chances of unpaid carers who provide support for people in the community who are ill, frail, disabled and disadvantaged in many ways. A Carer is any person who receives no pay for supporting a parent or relative, an elderly, physically and mentally ill or disabled person or persons experiencing substance abuse and those with terminal conditions.

They offer young carers a huge variety of advice ranging from school support to benefit options the young carers project is here to guide, support, listen and help where possible.  Also, they have lots of useful information, but when they don't have the answer, they can guide your carers to other services which are available.
