On Wednesday 21st September, at rather short notice, Trudi Scrivener addressed the club. She has worked in social care for over 20 years and is very passionate about supporting disabled people to live ordinary lives. 

Now one of the area managers of ‘Workskills’ she delivered a sincere, concise presentation of the work of her organisation that provides care and support for disabled people, often with mental health problems, enabling them to get back to employment.

It is based in Hemel Hempstead providing services for the general public and local businesses covering a wide area of Herts and Bucks. The type of work they undertake is general house maintenance, gardening, cleaning, and removals, painting and decorating, the disabled workers receiving a small financial incentive for their services

Funds are urgently needed, some of which are raised from a charity shop in Hemel. In time it is hoped they will be able to expand their services and replace their unreliable transport.
