RIBI President John Minhinick - 2012 / 13

At a ceremony in Perth Concert Hall, Immediate Past President Burman passed over the chains of office to John who will guide the organisation as well as promote Rotary across Great Britain and Ireland and beyond.

President John M Perth handover
Rotary Club of Burntisland and Kinghorn - John has been a member of Rotary for over 20 years and he knows the next twelve months will be very busy:
“It was a great day, we had a super turn out of people. The Perth Pipe Band really added colour to the celebration and there was a piper to lead in the top table. Perth Concert Hall is such a stunning venue and in a particularly beautiful part of Scotland. It’s a great start to the year.

“I have been preparing for the role of national president for a couple of years now. It was a great feeling when Past President Ray Burman presented me with the RIBI Presidential chains. He has done a great job over the past year, particularly with Rotary's End Polio Now campiagn, and he will be a tough act to follow. There is a lot of great work ahead for all Rotarians and opportunities for everyone to be involved with Rotary.

“I will have been in the post barely 48 hours before I’m on the road with a journey to Wales this week and hoping that Sat Nav doesn’t take me on too creative a route. I will be stopping by Wrexham and visiting the Eisteddfod in Wales this week.

“My wife Sheila and I are now doing the essential planning: working out what to put in the car for the road trip!

“I’m looking forward to this year, so many possibilities and so many ways to demonstrate Rotary’s commitment to communities.”
