Tony Ashton - Walk Leader

The trailers walk for April was around Fewston reservoir, then along Swinsty reservoir to Norwood.
The walkers met at 10.00 at Swinsty Moor. The weather was bright and sunny encouraging the more enlightened walkers to use shorts and sandals.
Mr A. burst into song at a later point in support of his liberal friends.
Setting off around Fewston heading north we were met by stunning views across the water.
Bathed in the sunshine walkers travelled around the reservoir clockwise quite speedily on the easy terrain.
The water was very still and quite high. Having frolicked around Fewston, walkers  then caught the snaking path down to Swinsty reservoir and travelled along its edge heading for refreshment at the Sun Inn, Norwood.
A short climb through the woods to the pub created a thirst. Walkers quickly ordered their orange juice and lemon waters.
Sadly there was no fish available but a typical Yorkshire pub lunch was consumed.
A return walk to Swinsty Moor was undertaken with a downhill start!
10 Walkers took part and lunched. The walk was around 6.5 miles in length and was relatively easy walking. A good day out.
We do not mention the coffee.
(Editors Note: Tony remembered all the things needed to make the coffee except for the water!)
