John Barrow - Walk Leader
Blaize Trailers Tuesday 22 May 2012

Walk from Farm Croft on the outskirts of Skipton to Bradley High Moor, on to Low Bradley for Lunch at The Slater's Arms, returning across the fields and via the Canal Towpath to the starting point.

Six Trailers arrived promptly for Coffee & Biscuits prior to walking, and we departed early at 10:10 am via Cawder Lane, soon achieving enough height for rather hazy long-distance views.

The route took us obliquely up to the top of the Moor, affording excellent views over the whole of Skipton, as far as the by-pass(es) on the West & North and beyond !

A steep climb took us past the Trig' point of Vicar's Allotment, and on to the 'Col', affording views over Silsden Moor, and the intervening Valley, prior to an easy descent to Low Bradley, only the (temporary) loss of the map causing any concern to the Leader, as a return along the canal was to be avoided at all costs, due to traffic noise.

A superb Lunch on a sun-drenched patio was enjoyed by all at The Slater's Arms, before setting off uphill again, to cross the fields, avoiding any 'cross-over' of the outward path.

High Bradley was noted on the return, and passing through Gill Bottom and Snaygill Farm, a safe return was achieved at around 3:30pm – Distance – about 7.1 Miles.  Pictures above.
