Emergency Aid and Shelter Box Appeal

Emergency Aid and Shelter Box Appeal serve an important principle of the Rotary Movement; to offer emergency aid in disasters with speed and targeted resource.  This has in the past been very welcome in past natural disasters such as the Haiti earthquake and the Japanese Earthquake and associated Tsunami demonstrates the importance of such an emergency fund reserve that is available at short notice.   The funding reserved for the Shelter Box has shown the wisdom in this decision.

International Aid Trust


The partnership with The International Aid Trust has been beneficial to both parties. We will continue to support to this Trust. In return we have enjoyed the expertise of the Trust in the transportation of our Recycled Medical Equipment to recipients abroad.

Inter Care (Aid for Africa)


Another organization that puts wheels on the work of the Rotary Movement.  Goods for aid can only serve the purpose if the reach the intended destination.

Shoe Box Appeal


We decided to make a donation to this appeal which collects and transports Christmas present to kids in Eastern Europe. This facilitates the delivery of Christmas presents collected for kids in desperate situation and gives the donor kids feel a sense of achievement.

Farm Africa


We decided to make a contribution to this self-multiplying gift. Using this money, a cow is bought and sent to Africa. This provides valuable milk for the community. It is low budget aid that multiplies itself!

Recycling Projects


We continue our Recycling Project with collection of  Spectacles, Books and Medical Equipment

Decommissioned Ambulance


We have approached Greater Manchester Ambulance Service for decommissioned ambulances for refurbishment and donation to Third World countries.  It is hoped that some of the funds raised from our activities will be used to fund these and future projects.

Know your Pulse and Stroke Prevention Day

Jointly between the Community and The International Committee we will carry out annually:
Know Your Pulse day appeal in a Haydock Supermarket on to raise the public awareness to the importance of regular pulse check to alert them to the need to request medical help for irregular pulse which could be an indicator of heart abnormality and a potential cause of stroke.

Blood Pressure Awareness Day


Blood Pressure Awareness Day appeal in a Haydock  Supermarket on to raise the public awareness to the importance of regular blood pressure pulse check  to alert them to the need  to request medical help for high blood pressure  which could be an indicator of heart abnormality and a potential cause of stroke and heart attacks.
