Rotary Young Carers Respite Breaks

Every year our Rotary Club pays for 10 or more young carers to take part in a respite holiday at Blackwell Park near Bromsgrove. To date the District 1060 programme has arranged for over 300 young carers to take advantage of the programme sponsored by Rotary Clubs of Solihull St. Alphege, North Worcestershire, Royal Leamington Spa and the Leamington 41 Club

The dates for 2018 are 13th - 15th August for young carers from Solihull and 15th - 17th August when young carers from the Coventry Young Carers and Worcestershire Young Carers Associations are taken on a respite break

See the programme on: www.RotaryYoungCarers.org.uk

Rotary Young Designer Awards

Every year the Club supports a Young Designer Award with a financial incentive. The schools involved are Kings High School at Warwick, Kingsley School in Leamington and Colstons School in Bristol. The programme is run by Rotarians David Cowan and John Hughes with the help of Claire Dempsey at Kingsley, Nigel Walker at Kings High and Katy Snell at Colstons School, Bristol

Entrepreneurial Interviews and Apprenticeships

This new programme was launched by Rotary District 1060 to help and give guidance to youngsters who are leaving school after their GCSE and entering into further education, trades or apprenticeships. A new initiative of using the latest technology of e-books can be seen on: www.interviews.org.uk

We are always interested in what young people have to say and if you wish to comment on any of the activities, especially after having viewed the above websites please do not hesitate to contact us
