2012 - 13
Our
Chairman: Rtn. Eric Cowcill
Recruitment of new members will continue to be a major priority. As in the past, personal recommendation has been found to be the most successful method so all members are encouraged to invite prospective members to visit the Club. Promotion of the Club by wearing the high visibility jackets at local community events is also very important, as is the publicity resulting from such events.
We shall be canvassing the businesses in the Ettiley Heath Business Park to see if there is any enthusiasm for a satellite club nearby. If so we shall seek permission from District to set up such a Club.
Retention of members is just as important so newly joined members will continue to be canvassed to ensure that their expectations of Club membership are being met

Our Achievements
Chairman: Rtn. Eric Cowcill
The issue of membership, both recruitment and retention is an ongoing one that is not getting any easier.
We are fortunate this Rotary year in having recruited three new members, one being new, David Turner and two being returnees, Bill Coupe and Graham Bradford.
District did offer a grant towards publicity for membership recruitment – however our application to fund a flyer for circulation locally was not accepted and we only received minimal funding. This was put to printing publicity brochures which have been circulated around town centre shops along with our pull-up banner.
We do publicise the Club and Rotary at all our functions with limited success however. Despite this albeit limited publicity, word of mouth still seems to be the best way of recruitment and will no doubt continue to be of importance in the future. I therefore ask that all members continue to spread the word to all potential new members in our continuing quest to increase membership.
