WHO ARE WE AND WHAT DO WE DO?

This collage of photographs illustrate more graphically some of the things we have done and continue to do each year.

We are a lively, mixed gender club whose members come from a wide area around the town. The one thing we have in common is a commitment to putting others before ourselves – in line with Rotary’s motto of ‘Service Above Self.’

We work to help those in need at local, regional, national and international level and also seek to advance international understanding, goodwill and peace through a worldwide fellowship of business and professional people.

Rotarians come from all walks of life. At Newton Aycliffe, we have members who formerly worked, or still work, in sales, accountancy, the law, education, financial planning, journalism, business training, the church, and the police (to name a few). They come from various backgrounds, faiths and creeds and are of all ages.

No formal academic or professional qualifications are needed to join Rotary but potential members are expected to have shown a clear interest in the community. They  must also be able to dedicate some time to fellowship and supporting the club’s charitable events. Check us out by clicking on the “club team” icon

Membership is by invitation but if you like the idea of helping others, why not contact our membership officer by clicking on to the "Contact us" icon? We’d love to hear from you.
