MORE ABOUT THE ROTARY CLUB OF COLCHESTER FORUM

Colchester Forum Rotary Club was chartered in April 1975 and has around 51 members.  It is part of Rotary International, the world's largest service organization. The Club offers its men and women members,, fellowship and fun together with the opportunity to share their time, talents, and expertise for the benefit of those in need locally, nationally and internationally

The Club has active Community, Youth, Vocational and International programmes and over the past several years, has raised a considerable amount of money for both local and international projects. The Club's year runs from 1st July and in the past our fund raising efforts have focussed on local needs including Headway, The Woolverstone Project (sailing for disabled), The East Anglian Children's Hospice, CLIC Sargent, the Hospital Children's Ward Rainbow Appeal, Age Concern where we assisted by assembling and delivering 5000 packs describing the dangers of Bogus Callers and many others worthy causes.  

 Our Youth and Voctional programmes provide a range of opportunities for young people including: Mock Interviews, the Rotary 'Youth Speaks competition, The Way Ahead career events,  Junior Poetry competitions Choir competitions and Literacy and Reading support projects."

International projects have included Water Aid, Mosquito nets, help for a Special Needs School in South Africa,  the Wheelchair Foundation where we have provided some 1132 wheelchairs for the disabled in 'third world' countries at a face value of

On Whitsun Bank Holiday Monday we held our Annual Duck Race in Lower Castle Park as part of the Hospital Radio Fun Day. The attendance at the event was great and we sold nearly 500 ducks on the day which added to the 1900 ducks members had sold in advance
