The Clubs Marketing, PR & Communications Committee is responsible for theMarketing, Public Relations, Website and Communications for the Club

Members of the Committee are IT-literate and recognise the value of email and the Internet as tools of Rotary marketing and communications. They have the relevant experience and skill sets to perform their roles effectively but the most important thing is that they are passionate about the value of Marketing, PR and Communications to the future success of Rotary both in District 1220 and in RIBI as a whole.

The Chairman is responsible for coordinating the clubs marketing, PR & communications strategy: ensuring that all of the communications channels employed PR, websites, newsletters/magazines, direct marketing/e-dm, etc are consistently on message, cost-effective, correctly targeted, of good quality and effective in achieving key objectives.

Marketing: The committee is responsible for identifying the external audiences with whom clubs/the district should be engaging face-to-face, particularly the local business and local government communities; and establishing links via meetings, letters or emails, with the aim of setting up mutual links and events in order to attract new members, sponsorship revenue, joint charitable support, etc.

Public Relations: The committee helps the club develop a relationship with the local/regional media so that they regularly carry positive stories about Rotary; helping to uncover, write and edit press releases; ensuring that new membership and/or donations are being communicated; ensuring that good quality photography is taken and used; identifying spokespeople with in-depth knowledge to front interviews/stories; providing the District and RIBI PR Officer with information that can be used at a national level or passed on to other district PROs.

Webmaster: Rtn. Andrew Hill is responsible for ensuring that the clubs website is up to date, correctly targeted at both members and non-members, of good quality and effective in achieving key objectives.

Communications:  We are responsible for internal communications ensuring that club, district and RIBI information is cascaded quickly, clearly and effectively to members, and that the information is understood and acted upon appropriately.

The Chairman and members of the Marketing, PR & Communications Committee liaise closely with and provide required support/advice to all of the other Club committees and resource groups. When feasible, committee members are appointed annually to the same committee for three years to ensure consistency.
