End Polio Now
The last inch !!!
Rotary started it's campaign to eradicate Polio from the world in 1985 and is determined to finish the task.
The Bill and Melinda Gates' Foundation gave a Rotary Challenge in 2007 that if Rotary Clubs in the world raised funds a matching donation to Rotary Foundation of $355m dollars to help eraadicate Polio from the world would come from the Gates Foundation. The Gates Foundation has also agreed to match Rotary Contributions for a further three years on the basis of US $2 for every $1 raised (limited to US$ 35M each year)

Rotarians around the world met and exceeded this challenge.
The task is however not yet finished with three Countries still endemic but there are only 1% of cases in the world compared to in 1985.
An announcement on 25th June 2013 at the Rotary International Convention in Lisbon, Portugal, set the stage for a bold new chapter in the partnership between Rotary and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in the campaign for polio eradication.
