Vocation & Youth Opportunities

The Vocation & Youth Opportunities Committee organises vocational visits and a variety of activities for schools including technology tournaments and mock interviews. It also presents an annual Rotary Award for Nursing Excellence.

"Rotary in Poole" Technology Tournament - 8th March 2012

30 teams from 8 Poole schools and colleges, including a teachers' team! Creative, instructive, entertaining and most enjoyable. A resounding success. More news and photos soon.

Mock Interviews at Poole High School - 21st March 2012

A successful event for all concerned. A total of 49 sixth form students were interviewed. At the end of each interview the students were given some feedback on how they had fared with any tips for improving their performance in a future, real, interview. Click on Sub-Pages tab (top left) for more.

Rotary Award for Nursing Excellence - 26th January 2012

Poole Rotary President Derek Winter was delighted to present the Poole Rotary Award for Nursing Excellence to Senior Auxiliary Ros Nash at the 17th Presentation Award Ceremony at Poole Hospital. Ros, who works on Cranborne Ward, was nominated for the award by her colleagues. She has just completed her Senior Auxiliaries / Advanced Apprenticeship Programme Level Three with Distinction. With the skills gained during the course and her 14 years working at Poole Hospital, she is involved with teaching both new Health Care assistants and first year student nurses.
